Introduction
In this article, we will explain the BEP-20 token standard, show you how to withdraw BEP-20 tokens to save time and fees, and share a list of exchanges that support direct BEP-20 withdrawals.
What is BEP-20?
BEP-20 is a token standard on the Binance Smart Chain that extends ERC-20 and BEP-2 tokens, providing additional functionality that allows you to move tokens between different blockchains and more.
With BEP-20, you can:
Using tokens that are compatible across multiple blockchains.
Pegging tokens from other blockchains and making them available on the BSC (i.e., Bitcoin pegged on the BSC as BTCB).
Swap BEP-2 tokens equivalent to BEP-20 (BNB from BEP-2 to BEP-20).
Enjoy transaction fees of just $0.05 and block times of just 3 seconds.
For a more detailed look at the BEP-20 standard, read the Github draft proposal.
How to withdraw BEP-20 tokens
Various exchanges support BEP-20 withdrawals to BSC-compatible wallets, eliminating the process of manually converting your BEP-2 tokens to BEP-20. By withdrawing BEP-20 tokens directly, you save time and money (fees), as you completely skip the step that requires you to convert your tokens to BEP-20.
Withdraw BEP-20 tokens on Binance.com
For the purposes of this article, we will explain the process of withdrawing BNB from Binance.com to Trust Wallet. However, the withdrawal process should be very similar across exchanges and crypto wallets.
Before you begin, you must open your Trust Wallet (or any other BSC compatible wallet) and obtain the recipient's BSC address. This is very easy as all you need to do is open your wallet, select Smart Chain, then click Receive. The address will appear on the screen. Save this address for later, as you will need it in step 3 of the next guide.
1. Log in to your Binance.com account. In the top right corner, select Wallet (Wallet) and then click Overview.
2. In Wallet Overview, click Withdraw in the upper right corner.
3. Once in the withdrawal menu, select the coin you want to withdraw (in our example, that is BNB), enter the withdrawal address (obtained from Trust Wallet), select Binance Smart Chain as the transfer network, then enter the amount you want to withdraw.

4. After selecting Binance Smart Chain as the transfer network, a pop-up screen will appear to test your BSC knowledge and to ensure that you understand the actions performed. After passing the test, click Submit.
5. The next steps are the same as other withdrawals. A confirmation screen will appear to inform you of the conversion rate, fees, and to allow you to review the transaction details once again.
6. Once confirmed, you will be asked to enter a verification code to approve the withdrawal.
Your transaction will be processed immediately. Funds will appear in your Trust Wallet balance (in Smart Chain) within minutes of receiving the withdrawal confirmation email. Once the funds arrive, Trust Wallet will send you a notification regarding the successful deposit of BNB BEP-20 tokens.
By following these steps, you eliminate the process of manually converting BEP-2 to BEP-20 and save time and money on costs. After receiving the deposit into Trust Wallet, you are free to interact with any dApp or BSC project without further delay.
