In the last 24 hours, Bitcoin started a minor rise before it could even challenge the $28,000 level. Major market-cap altcoins remain relatively stagnant today, but TON continues to lose momentum and another daily decline pushes it below $2. 📉

The business week started on a high note, with the bulls taking complete control of the market for several days. On Monday morning, there was a massive price increase that increased the value of the primary cryptocurrency by more than $1,500. This resulted in BTC charting a six-week high of around $28,600. However, the asset could not maintain its momentum and began to lose value. 😕

This led to consecutive price declines, sending Bitcoin crashing to $27,200 yesterday. However, the cryptocurrency bounced back at this point and did not fall further south. On the contrary, it recovered a few hundred dollars and went on the offensive today. Still, this rally failed to push BTC higher than $27,900.

Currently, Bitcoin is trading just above $27,500. Its market cap has increased slightly, approaching $540 billion, and its dominance over altcoins has increased to 49.5% on CMC.

Toncoin, one of the best performers in the industry in the last few weeks, has now turned the tide. TON has been steadily losing value lately, with the latest price drop of 2.5% dropping it below $2. Just a few weeks ago, TON rose above $2.5.

Similar or slightly less severe price losses from Ripple and MATIC are seen on a daily scale. ETH, SOL, DOGE, TRX, BCH and SHIB are also slightly in the red.

In contrast, BNB, ADA, DOT, LTC, and LINK all posted negligible gains. Avalanche traded at $10, up 4%.

Top gainers on a daily scale include Aave (8%) and Trust Wallet Token (8%).

Overall, total cryptocurrency market cap has remained relatively stagnant at around $1.080 trillion in CMC.
