This year GRAM got three massive headlines. Every single one pumped and dumped within two weeks:

• May 4: Telegram takes over TON → $2.89 (+32%). Didn't hold.
• June 15: Toncoin renamed to Gram → $1.75. Down 9.5% two weeks later.
• Oct 9: Money wallet opens to more Telegram users → $1.49. Down 7.5% in five days.

Now it's sitting around $1.21.

🧩 Why the giant ecosystem isn't moving the price
• A wallet isn't demand. It only removes friction. People still have to turn it on, buy GRAM and actually spend it.
• No adoption numbers yet. Nobody knows how many accounts really have the wallet.
• On-chain is weak. TVL is down $700M+ from its 2024 peak, and the token is -41% over a year.
• Durov is a single point of failure. Every Durov headline is a GRAM headline.
• Thin market. Daily volume is under 1% of market cap.

Durov's "Make TON Great Again" plan is 4 of 7 steps done. 3 are still secret.
My guess: the next step pumps it again. Whether it sticks depends on one thing: does it bring real money in (payments, revenue), or just another announcement?

• Bear (30%): daily close under $1.156 opens $1.00–1.05
• Bull (25%): new MTONGA step + real wallet numbers → $1.52, then $1.74

Durov's 7-step plan is already 4 steps in: faster chain, lower fees, Telegram running validators, rebrand to Gram. 3 steps are still unannounced. 👀

✈️ TELEGRAM HAS SUGGESTED THAT USERS FIX BUGS THEMSELVES!

💬 Recently we discussed заявления разработчика Телеграм for macOS Mike about the fact that neural networks are now actively used to write the messenger's code. Many users then linked the growing number of bugs to vibe coding. It seems the developer has found an answer to the criticism: if you don't like it, fix it yourself!

⚙️ Now Telegram has resumed updating the macOS client source code on GitHub and started accepting fixes from the community. And it's already working. What gave it a push wasn’t some mysterious pool of capital—it was a name
Telegram founder Durov announced that Toncoin will be renamed Gram within the next three weeks, returning to its original brand
A name change might sound like fluff, but the market runs on narratives
Its 24-hour trading volume reportedly surged to around $760 million, more than doubling from the previous day
And this rally was driven mainly by spot trading, with derivatives barely joining in. That makes the setup a little healthier than a rally fueled purely by leverage
But let’s pour a little cold water on things
Just last week, around 46 million TON tokens, worth about $81 million, were unlocked for the community
That’s less than 1% of the total supply—not much, but once the buzz around the rebrand fades, the newly circulating tokens become real selling pressure
There was another detail in Basis Desk’s data for the same day: net outflows from exchanges were about $1.28 billion, with far more funds withdrawn than deposited
The money hasn’t fled; it’s just moved from exchanges into custody. When the broader market is grinding out a bottom, big money tends to prioritize safety over speed
So what do I make of this TON rally?
The rebrand narrative plus rising spot volume does give it the makings of an independent short-term run
But the area around $2 is a supply zone up ahead. Whether TON can hold there is the real test
If it can’t, even a 40% gain could vanish in a few days

Hey everyone, today let’s talk about TON—the star public blockchain backed by Telegram. It recently even changed its name, so let’s break down what’s going on.

First, a look at the market. TON is currently around $1.25, with a market cap of $3.1 billion, ranking around 30th by market cap. It’s basically flat over the past 24 hours, but it’s down 27% year to date, so the overall trend is still downward.

1. First, the name change

TON recently officially renamed its token GRAM, echoing the original vision of Telegram’s founder. The name change itself doesn’t alter the fundamentals, but it does show that the project is reworking its brand narrative.

That said, the name change has limited impact on the price. The market is more focused on whether the ecosystem can take off.

2. TON’s biggest advantage: Telegram

TON has one core advantage: it’s backed by Telegram, a super app with 900 million users. In theory, TON is the public blockchain closest to mainstream users. Mini apps, mini-games, and payment features within Telegram could all run directly on TON.

That’s the kind of potential other public blockchains can only envy. The problem for now is that while the user base is huge, on-chain activity is fairly modest, and conversion hasn’t taken off yet.

3. The state of the ecosystem

TON’s ecosystem mainly consists of mini-app games, social apps, and payment projects. The Telegram mini-game craze that took off for a while brought in a wave of users, but once the hype died down, retention became a challenge.

TON now needs to make a breakthrough in payments and stablecoins. If it can use Telegram’s reach to get payment use cases up and running, that would be a big story.

4. Risks to keep in mind

First, TON’s performance over the past year has been disappointing. It’s down 27% YTD, suggesting that market expectations are cooling.

Second, Telegram’s founder was previously arrested, and regulatory risk remains a sword hanging over the project.

Third, after the renaming to GRAM, the token will need to build recognition all over again, which could cause some confusion in the short term.

My take

TON is a project with “huge potential, but a slow payoff.” Its pool of 900 million users is real, but the public blockchain is still working through its cold-start phase.

At $1.25, it may be worth keeping an eye on for those with a long-term outlook, but don’t expect a short-term breakout. Its story won’t play out until the Telegram ecosystem really gets going.

🤖 TELEGRAM IS PREPARING A BUILT-IN AI AGENT!

✈️ A new Agent feature has been discovered in the Telegram 13.1.0 beta for macOS. It will let users connect third-party neural networks directly to the messenger.

☝️ Support for five providers has already been spotted: OpenAI (ChatGPT), Anthropic (Claude), Google (Gemini), xAI (Grok), and OpenRouter. Users will be able to connect multiple services using their own API keys and switch between them with @agent.

💬 Some authors are already saying there’s nothing new here, since AI agents like OpenClaw, Hermes, and others have been working in Telegram for a long time. And they’re partly right, but they’re missing the main point. Connecting a neural network through a third-party bot and having it built into Telegram are two completely different things!

💻 In the first case, you often have to set up the bot, server, and API yourself. In the second, Telegram could offer a ready-made way to connect neural networks directly from the messenger. It’s not yet known whether @agent will become a fully-fledged AI agent or remain a regular chat with a neural network. The feature is still under development.
