🍺 Americans are drinking less — panic or pause?
Alcohol consumption in the USA is declining — the third noticeable drop in a century. The market is nervous, shares of alcohol companies have fallen.
But analysts at Barclays remind us: after declines, volumes usually recover. Young people have not "stopped drinking" — the decrease until the age of 21 has been ongoing for decades, and after 21, patterns remain stable.
📌 The reason is macro: inflation and high rates are cutting discretionary spending. The premium segment is growing — demand has become selective, not disappeared.
