Solana has reached another important infrastructure milestone. On September 18, 2026, its mainnet-beta target slot time moved from 300ms โ 250ms under SIMD-0525.
That means Solana is now targeting roughly 4 slots per second. ๐

A shorter slot time doesnโt automatically mean Solana will process proportionally more transactions. The upgrade also adjusts per-slot resource limits to keep the overall execution budget broadly balanced.
