Here’s the context most panic-posters are missing:
✅ BTC is still above its 200-day EMA (~$71,900) — the line that would need to break to kill the breakout. It didn’t.
✅ August closes ~+21.5% even AFTER the drop — a month that ran from $62K to $81K.
✅ That defies history: BTC fell in 9 of the last 14 Augusts. This one flipped the script.

And a key nuance: part of Friday’s drop was mechanical. $6.4B in options expired on CME that morning, and rate-hike odds jumped to ~68% — that combo squeezed crowded longs. It wasn’t pure “everyone’s bearish now.”

The takeaway: one hawkish speech doesn’t erase a 30% monthly move. Zoom out.
