A Hong Kong man dies after significant cryptocurrency losses

A 32-year-old Hong Kong resident is believed to have taken his own life after suffering heavy losses related to his cryptocurrency investments, according to information relayed by ChainCatcher. The tragedy occurred shortly after his return from the United Kingdom, in the presence of his father.
Holder of a master's degree and engaged in a second training program, the man had been unemployed since the 2022 pandemic, which had affected his mental health. He was on a regular medication treatment. Last September, he had flown to the United Kingdom to continue his studies, but his recent exchanges with his father revealed significant emotional distress. Concerned, his family persuaded him to return to Hong Kong to receive care.
