✔️ Solana was almost stuck in a network freeze state.
Solana came very close to a threshold where the network could no longer continue finality after a routing incident at a data center provider temporarily took about 29% of staked SOL offline. Around 90 validators were affected, and the network was only about 20 million SOL away from the freeze threshold. The issue was resolved after roughly 10 minutes, but it shows that concentration risk in connectivity infrastructure remains a notable concern for major blockchains.
✔️ Harmony is considering a rollback after an incident that inflated the ONE supply.
Harmony is considering the possibility of rolling back the blockchain after an exploit was suspected to have caused an abnormal amount of ONE tokens to be created. The case is putting the community in a difficult position between restoring the pre-incident state and maintaining the blockchain’s immutability.
✔️ An XRP bridge was drained by about $200,000 due to deposit verification errors.
An XRP-related bridge was exploited after the software mistakenly treated fake deposits as valid transactions, allowing the attacker to withdraw around $200,000. This continues to be a warning about bridge system risks and cross-chain transaction verification mechanisms.
✔️ New York launches an investigation into the marketing activities of prediction markets.

🔈🔈 STRATEGY WILL BUY BACK BITCOIN BY YEAR-END

💥 CEO Strategy Phong Le confirmed that the company will return to buying Bitcoin during the remaining portion of the year, despite continuously selling BTC in recent times.

⚡️ Since the beginning of 2026, Strategy has bought about 175,000 BTC, while only selling around 7,000 BTC—meaning the amount of BTC purchased is still roughly 25 times the amount sold.

💎 Currently, Strategy holds more than 840,447 BTC, remaining the public company with the largest Bitcoin holdings in the world.

👑 Strategy has sold BTC four times since June 2026; most recently, it sold 1,690 BTC worth approximately $108.6 million. However, CEO Phong Le stated that these sales are part of a new capital management strategy, rather than indicating that the company has abandoned its confidence in Bitcoin.

📌 The new statement shows that Strategy continues to maintain a long-term BTC accumulation strategy and may accelerate its buyback when capital conditions are more favorable.

Coinsbuy has suspended deposits/withdrawals and announced a $100,000 bounty for information to identify the attacker(s) and additional rewards for recovering the assets.
✔️ The CFTC requires Kalshi to continue operating in New York.
The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) has asked Kalshi to continue providing prediction markets in New York while its legal dispute with the state is still ongoing. The matter is becoming a new hotspot regarding how the U.S. regulates prediction markets based on digital assets.
✔️ Australia suspends one of the crypto ATM operators.
Australia’s financial crime authority has suspended Cryptolink Pty Ltd for 3 months, forcing 96 of the company’s crypto ATMs to stop operating. This is a new step in efforts to tighten crypto ATM operations and reduce the risk of using these channels for money laundering.

Bybit has filed a civil lawsuit in a U.S. federal court against North Korea, the Lazarus Group, and the RGB intelligence agency, relating to the theft of roughly $1.5 billion in crypto. Bybit seeks to recover the stolen assets and asks the court to help freeze related assets.
✔️ A new attack targets Bitcoin Lightning infrastructure.
After the BTCPay Server exploit, another attack is targeting LND nodes using the Lightning Network. The attacker is believed to have stolen credentials with control over a Lightning wallet and moved funds. Operators are advised to update immediately or take servers offline if they cannot upgrade.
✔️ BIP-110 officially begins soft fork testing on Bitcoin.
Bitcoin has reached block 961,632, marking the rollout of the controversial BIP-110 soft fork test. The proposal focuses on limiting certain types of non-financial data in blocks, continuing the ongoing debate about how Bitcoin block space should be used.
✔️ Robinhood expands crypto in the UK via Bitstamp.
Robinhood is expanding its crypto services in the United Kingdom, allowing eligible users access to more than 50 crypto assets through Bitstamp infrastructure. This is a further step in Robinhood’s international crypto expansion strategy.

✔️ Brazil is preparing to apply a 24-hour waiting period for certain major crypto transactions.
The Central Bank of Brazil will require VASPs to apply a maximum holding time of up to 24 hours for certain crypto transfers to platforms abroad or self-custody wallets. The regulation is expected to take effect from 01/01/2027 and applies also to some fiat-pegged stablecoins.
✔️ Bitcoin has surfaced with a sidechain related to BIP-110.
Nodes supporting BIP-110 have begun rejecting blocks that do not signal support for the proposed “anti-spam,” temporarily causing the Bitcoin blockchain to split into two branches. However, the BIP-110 chain currently only receives support from a small portion of miners, while the main chain remains significantly ahead.
✔️ The CLARITY Act is pushed to September.
Republican leadership in the Senate, led by John Thune, has filed for cloture for the CLARITY Act, paving the way for a procedural vote on 15/09/2026, after the U.S. Congress returns from its August recess. The bill still needs at least 60 votes to clear the procedural step in the Senate.

🔈🔈 SUI DEPLOYS POST-QUANTUM SECURITY

💥 Sui has just announced the integration of two post-quantum signature algorithms approved by NIST, aiming to protect accounts and high-value vaults against the risks posed by quantum computers.

🛡 2 algorithms are integrated:
✔️ ML-DSA-65 (FIPS 204): for ordinary user accounts.
✔️ SLH-DSA-SHA2-128s (FIPS 205): implemented in Move smart contracts to protect high-value vaults.

👑 Notably, users do not need to change wallets, seed phrases, or transfer assets. Sui allows creating post-quantum private keys from the current seed phrase and keeping the same address thanks to Address Alias.

🗓 Roadmap:
✔️ Quantum-safe Vaults: expected to go live on Mainnet in 2026
✔️ ML-DSA-65: Testnet by late 2026
✔️ Account support on Mainnet: expected in Q1/2027

⚡️ Sui says this upgrade is designed to reduce risk from the “Harvest Now, Forge Later” scenario, where attackers collect the current public key and wait until the quantum computer is powerful enough to break the private key.
