Fogo (FOGO) is a blockchain that is compatible with the Solana Virtual Machine (SVM), but redesigned to achieve very low latency (waiting time). The goal is clear: to create an infrastructure capable of handling high-frequency trading and other on-chain financial applications without the usual "technical barriers" encountered in other blockchains.
With block times under 40 milliseconds and confirmations in seconds, Fogo aims to deliver a responsive and efficient DeFi ecosystem.
The core concept behind Fogo is based on the real-world experience of professional traders. Today’s blockchains are often not optimal for trading strategies that require fast execution, which leads to slippage (price differences) and results that are not competitive.
Fogo meets this challenge with the “vertical integration” approach. This means that all important components for trading—such as validators, the price oracle, and a decentralized exchange (DEX)—are built and optimized in a unified way within its own network. The goal is to eliminate the “latency tax” and the “friction tax” so that on-chain trading activity can run as smoothly as on a centralized exchange.
