Web3 digital credential data network Galxe tweeted that the website is now fully restored and the team will continue to enhance security. On October 6, an unidentified person contacted domain service provider Dynadot, impersonating an authorized Galxe member and using forged documents to bypass security processes. The impostor then accessed the domain account without authorization, manipulated the account to redirect website visitors to a fake website, and signed transactions that embezzled their funds.

Galxe said the incident only affected the domain name and front-end application, all Galxe smart contracts and Galxe's technical systems remain secure and protected, and all user information remains safe and unaffected.

As of now, Galxe estimates that approximately 1,120 users who interacted with the malicious website were affected and approximately $270,000 was stolen. Its team is actively developing a fund recovery plan with law enforcement and third-party experts to ensure that everyone affected will be supported.
