BullishStar, the CEO of OKX, has an unbelievable attitude. He has the nerve to criticize CZ over the Binance hack and say that he’s disgusted by the whole thing. But in 2025, when $MANTRA collapsed, while the entire community was demanding answers from OKX, Star simply stayed silent and let the MANTRA team take the initial blame.
Only later did other market players point out that only OKX could explain what caused the price to fall from $7 to $0.70, wiping out more than $8 billion in market value in just a few hours.
Star claims that CZ’s interview is full of misleading statements and that he should take responsibility. That’s a tasteless joke, considering those are exactly the words we used against Star in the MANTRA case.
He also talks about responsibility and leadership, but we’ve never seen OKX take any steps to clarify what happened. On the contrary, there have been countless attempts to avoid giving explanations. I agree with him on one thing: “This is definitely not the kind of leadership our industry needs.”
Maybe Star expected the Binance hack to prompt users to migrate to OKX. But even amid the crisis, Binance continued operating and welcoming new users.
Worse still, he argues that the security of traditional banks is often no better than that of exchanges.
Star also blames Binance for BTC’s drop from $81K to $75K. Curious, since some EXCHANGES seem to be one of the main reasons for so much downward pressure on prices.
I agree when he says we need real accountability, not excuses and PR speeches. So how about exchanges stop forcing liquidations and let the market run its natural course?
And, borrowing another line from Star: “This is what I’d rather invest my time and energy in.” How about investing that time and energy AWAY from the market? Maybe then we’ll rise faster.
