Jack Dorsey, former CEO of Twitter, said in an interview that his payment company Block is developing products compatible with the decentralized social protocol Nostr. The user experience on Nostr has surpassed Twitter and has introduced the Bitcoin reward function "Zaps". This is part of the vision of information and funds flowing together unimpeded on the Internet.

He also said that Nostr was growing in popularity outside of the Bitcoin niche, saying that the tipping feature would attract a “growing community of artists” and that “will grow even faster as Zaps grow and we finally enable global permissionless payments on the internet.” Following this exchange, Dorsey announced that this would become the model for his new personal media policy: “No more closed interviews for me. Only through Nostr or live.” (Politico)
