NU7 Zcash OFFICIALLY ACTIVE — block 3,543,405 was reached at 09:34 WIB today.

Facts: The NU7 upgrade is now live on the Zcash mainnet (Unchained, Nov. 5; confirmed by KuCoin News, Blockchair data). The target block time has dropped from 75 seconds to 25 seconds, and the Network Sustainability Mechanism has begun setting aside 60% of transaction fees for future block rewards. Around 12,224 ZEC (~$16 million) still in the old Sprout pool can no longer be moved — they haven’t been burned, but there’s no way to move them under the new rules.

Status: CONFIRMED — activated at block 3,543,405.

My take: This is an infrastructure upgrade, not an immediate price catalyst. ZEC briefly touched $1,333 this morning before returning to around $1,313 — the market had priced in this activation a long time ago. What’s genuinely new is the NSM: for the first time, Zcash has a mechanism to save fees for long-term security.

What I’m watching: whether 25-second blocks run smoothly during the first few hours after activation, and whether a Sprout recovery proposal emerges in the future (ZIP 2003 opens that possibility, but offers no guarantees).

⚠️ Be careful: scammers are exploiting the Sprout deadline with fake “migration” sites — official claims will never ask for your seed phrase/private key.

Do you think blocks that are 3x faster are enough to revive interest in ZEC, or has the market moved on?

This is my analysis, not financial advice — always DYOR.
