The barbecue stand had barely fired up when PYR put on a high-diving act and plunged straight down. According to Binance real-time data, $PYR $$PYR was down 57%, with the price at just $0.21 and 24-hour trading volume at only $750K. That’s a pretty respectable volume compared with a lot of altcoins, but it couldn’t withstand the heavy selling. WTC and PHB at the next table had it even worse, down at least 50%, while IOST also fell 40%. The whole altcoin market seemed to have agreed to slump together.

At the end of the day, it still comes down to the Bitcoin ETF situation. Inflows are slowing, Bitcoin is moving sideways, and altcoins have lost their source of fresh capital. The pattern is right there: when money flows into ETFs, Bitcoin rises first and altcoins follow along for the ride; when ETFs see outflows, Bitcoin can hold up, but altcoins are the first to get crippled. This PYR sell-off is a textbook example: once the money pulled out, liquidity was paper-thin, and a few hundred thousand dollars was enough to leave a deep crater.

The Nasdaq was up 0.3% last night, gold held steady at 2,360, and oil was at 82. Traditional markets were rock-solid, while altcoins in crypto were the first to go down in flames. ACA also joined in, sliding lower. Don’t force a bottom-fishing trade in this market—the knife hasn’t hit the ground yet.
