BTTC coin: Has BitTorrent’s ambitious journey ended, or is it temporarily in a coma?

BTTC (formerly known as BTT) has stirred a lot of controversy and questions among investors recently. The coin, which has a long history and is linked to one of the world’s largest file-sharing protocols (BitTorrent), has not achieved the expected price surges and has remained moving within extremely narrow ranges. This has led some to wonder: Has the coin been delisted from exchanges, or has it entered a long coma?

➡️ The truth: Has BTTC disappeared from the platforms?

The direct answer is no; the BTTC coin was not fully deleted from the market. The coin is still listed and available for spot trading on major global platforms such as Binance and many other platforms. [1]

However, there are two main reasons that may explain some people’s feeling that it has disappeared or been removed:

Network and name update (Redenomination): At the end of 2021, the coin’s team split the old coin (BTTOLD) into the new coin (BTTC) at a rate of 1:1000. This technical change caused the old ticker to be removed and replaced with BTTC, confusing some users who thought their coin had disappeared. [1, 2]

Stopping certain networks and not the currency: Some platforms such as Binance recently (in June 2026) stopped deposits and withdrawals for the BTTC coin via only the "BNB Smart Chain (BSC)" network, while keeping trading and deposits normal through its native network and other networks. This confused some traders and made them think it was completely removed. [1, 2, 3]
