Bitcoin spot ETF fake news! Bitcoin price goes on an instant roller coaster ride

The well-known currency media Cointelegraph recently published false news about "the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) approving BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Spot ETF", causing sharp fluctuations in the price of Bitcoin. The news sent Bitcoin prices hitting the $30,000 mark within minutes before quickly falling to around 29,000.

This incident was reported by Bloomberg analyst James Seyffart on Twitter. He said that even though Cointelegraph’s report at the time was consistent with his focus, he could not find any supporting information. Cointelegraph immediately issued an apology and stated that they were conducting an internal investigation and found that employees wrote tweets with false information through Telegram, which did not comply with fact-checking procedures. They would take this incident seriously and make internal rectifications.

Interestingly, BlackRock CEO Larry Fink said that this clearly shows that the market’s interest in Bitcoin is pent-up at this time.

Bitcoin was trading at $28,467 at press time, up 5.2% in the past 24 hours and 3.2% in the past seven days.

Mysten Labs CEO predicts that strategic funds will flow into the blockchain industry

Evan Cheng, CEO of Mysten Labs, which developed the Sui public chain, pointed out in a recent interview that although capital investment from venture capital has been relatively tight in the past few months due to the slowdown in the encryption boom, he believes that investment funds will flow in again, and Will be more cautious and strategic.

He said investors are waiting and watching, and traditional financial institutions like BlackRock do see the opportunity here. Evan Cheng pointed out that Sui has currently communicated with industry players in relevant regions such as the United Arab Emirates and Qatar, and they are very interested in taking the lead in the development and investment of the blockchain industry. The same phenomenon also occurs in the Asia-Pacific region. Investment funds have not disappeared, but have become more cautious.

Tether, the issuer of USDT, the largest stablecoin by market capitalization, announced that it has frozen the cryptocurrency addresses of 32 terrorist organizations related to Hamas and Ukraine. Tether stated that they have been working closely with Israel’s National Counter-Terrorism Financing Authority NBCTF and will cooperate to combat terrorism and war funded through cryptocurrency.

When a wallet is frozen, the wallet's "Send USDT" function will be restricted, which means that the owner cannot transfer funds until the freeze is lifted, and the total value of these 32 frozen addresses is $870,000.
