At 14:45 Beijing time on October 25, Binance Futures officially launched pre-market trading for the PREDICT/USDT perpetual contract, with leverage of up to 5x.
PREDICT is the token of Predict.fun. A quick look at the project’s background tells you it has some serious backing: a strategic investment from YZi Labs (formerly Binance Labs), public endorsement from CZ, and deep integration with BNB Chain. Binance App’s “Prediction Markets” feature is powered by it as its underlying protocol. In other words, this isn’t some random altcoin project—it was incubated within the Binance ecosystem and gained traction riding the World Cup wave.
During the World Cup period from June 11 to July 19 this year, Predict.fun covered prediction markets across the board, including scores, match winners, champions, and dark horses. It later expanded into the Champions League, NBA, NFL, Premier League, as well as gold and oil prices and geopolitical events. Its user base is already taking shape.
So, what does a pre-market perpetual contract mean?
A pre-market contract is a type of derivatives trading that takes place before a token officially launches on the spot market. Liquidity is relatively low, prices can fluctuate sharply, and information asymmetry is pronounced. Experienced traders know that the opening price of these contracts can often differ significantly from the token’s subsequent spot listing price. In these liquidity conditions, 5x leverage might be fine for testing the waters with a small position, but a large position can easily get wicked out.
But the launch of a pre-market contract also carries another implication: Binance is signaling to the market that “PREDICT will be listed on the spot market.” It’s an implicit endorsement signal, following the same logic as pre-market contracts for BNB Launchpool projects in the past.
Narrative-wise, Predict.fun occupies two key positions: first, it’s the largest native prediction market on BNB Chain; second, it’s a gateway to the next major event-driven cycle (sports, elections, and macroeconomic data). There’s still one World Cup final week left in 2026, followed by the Champions League group-stage peak.
I don’t know if it’ll succeed. But now that the pre-market contract is live, it’ll either make a run or become a cautionary tale. Watching the traffic data is more useful than just watching the price.
