Main Takeaways

  • The Binance Women in Crypto Conference dinner took place in Nairobi, Kenya on October 26, 2022.

  • The event was the first of its kind by Binance in Nairobi.

  • While there are numerous opportunities for women in crypto, there is a need to amplify the voices of those already in the industry.

On October 26, 2022, Binance held a Women in Crypto Conference dinner that brought together specific groups of women; top female potential affiliates, traders, and contributors to the Binance ecosystem. It was a great opportunity for these women to meet, explore opportunities, and discuss strategies on the positive growth of the Women in Blockchain initiative across East Africa.

To empower more women in East Africa with the knowledge they need to seize blockchain’s financial opportunities, Binance gathered over 30 women who engaged with one another on how crypto and crypto trading has revolutionized the financial industry.

The key speaker for the night was renowned crypto author and writer Roselyne Wanjiru. She emphasized the diverse opportunities for women in the currently male-dominated crypto industry, saying women could enter the space even as founders.

The need for female voices in blockchain and crypto is undeniable. It is important to not only acknowledge the work of women in this space, but also for them to take the lead in pioneering more opportunities for the next generation of women in crypto.
