Binance East Africa Team Hosts its First Meet-up in Machakos, Kenya

The Machakos meet-up, organized by the Binance East African team, took place on January 7. Attendees got the chance to receive first-hand education on crypto and blockchain and attend in-depth sessions on Binance products.

Speaking within the context of the local blockchain industry and its potential for positive integration in Kenya, Lorena Mathendu, Community Manager for East Africa, stated: “Our mission as Binance is focused on dispelling myths on the crypto industry, especially in East Africa.
“With these community meet-ups, we aim to bridge the knowledge gap when it comes to the lack of awareness of Binance as an ecosystem provider for blockchain and Web3 technology in East Africa.”

Meet-up Highlights
Comprehensive discussions on the history of blockchain, how Bitcoin came about, and the numerous opportunities Web3 presents.
Attendees got a chance to participate in live sessions on Binance products and features, as well as the opportunity to interact one-on-one with the Binance East Africa team and Binance Angels.
There was a lively Q&A Session where attendees got more information on how to start their crypto journeys.
Another key aspect that was covered extensively was tips on how to evade crypto scammers, particularly on social media.
