Sharplink CEO Joseph Chalom expects the CLARITY Act to remain stalled until 2028 following Democrats’ major victory in the U.S. midterm elections. According to Odaily, the election results could shift Washington’s approach to crypto policy, with lawmakers potentially focusing more on scrutiny of U.S. President Donald Trump’s crypto business dealings, including the project World Liberty Financial, than on industry-friendly legislation. Sherrod Brown is returning to the Senate, while Elizabeth Warren is expected to continue influencing financial policy.

TD Cowen analyst Jaret Seiberg expects little progress on the CLARITY Act over the next two years and said the political environment could prevent an industry-backed version from advancing. Circle and other industry participants have said crypto has bipartisan support in Congress. They also said stablecoins and tokenized stocks could advance through existing laws and rulemaking by regulatory agencies, even if the CLARITY Act is delayed.
