$TRUMP $MELANIA and $WLFI crashed right after Democrats planned to investigate the Trump family's crypto empire.

Democrats had said this was coming. One Democrat promised to combat corruption, citing “Trump’s crypto billions.”

And the Justin Sun feud shows what investigators would find.

Justin Sun is the best case study.

📍 Sep 2024:

WLFI launches and struggles. By October 30, 2024, it had cut its fundraising target by 90% to $30 million and still missed it.

📍 Nov 25, 2024:

Sun steps in. He paid $30 million for 2 billion WLFI tokens, per his complaint.

He was quickly named an advisor, which came with another 1 billion tokens.

📍 Jan 2025:

Justin bought another billion WLFI for $15 million, making his total $45 million. After that, World Liberty “took off” and raised $550 million.

📍 Apr–Jul 2025:

Sun's suit alleges World Liberty leaders tried to get him to mint 200 million USD1 stablecoin tokens.

📍 Sep 2025:

The complaint says the company froze his tokens starting September 1 after he refused to put in $200 million more.

Sun said publicly they were unreasonably frozen. World Liberty’s side is that his wallet moved about $9 million in tokens before it was blacklisted.

📍 Apr 21, 2026:

In San Francisco federal court. He says World Liberty secretly changed the rules to give itself “blacklisting power” over who can transfer tokens.

He accuses it of trying to extort him by threatening to destroy his holdings.

📍 May 4, 2026:

World Liberty counter-sues. It filed a defamation suit in Florida, claiming Sun ran a smear campaign and made prohibited token transfers.

📍 Aug 20, 2026: A court win for Sun. A judge kept his personal claims in public court and rejected World Liberty’s push to move everything to private arbitration.

No trial date or damages award has been announced. Neither lawsuit has reached a final judgment.

Justin Sun is seeking hundreds of millions of dollars in damages. Sun’s tokens are still frozen as of the latest reporting I found.

Why Congress should care:

- The company that allegedly froze a top investor’s tokens is run by the president’s family and friends. The family holds about 60% of it.

- The SEC dropped its fraud case against Sun, a major WLF backer. Democrats are demanding to know why.

- The allegations are now in open court. A judge refused to move Sun’s personal claims behind closed doors. The claims include a secret “blacklisting power” and a demand for $200 million more.

Democrats now have subpoena power. Americans deserve answers before more money goes in.
