A 10 ETH refund bug froze THORChain for three days. $RUNE holders paid for it with about $31M of market cap.

On Saturday a one-block Ethereum reorg erased a 10 ETH deposit THORChain had already credited. The swap failed its price limit, so THORChain refunded money its vault never received, then refunded the real deposit too. One extra 10 ETH payout, one automatic pause, and node operators halted trading across most of the network.
10 ETH is about $22,600. RUNE's market cap went from roughly $214M on Oct 31 to $182M on Nov 2. That's around $1,400 of market cap gone for every dollar the bug cost.
The status page now shows 10 of 13 networks OK. BNB Smart Chain, Cosmos Hub and Solana still have warnings.
A week of drama, net move zero: $0.63 to $0.62. Anyone who sold the $0.50 low paid about 20% for the scare.
