Canada’s “Crypto King” Raised $36 Million and Fabricated a $311 Million Trading Account That Never Existed

Aidan Bleterski, who dubbed himself “King of Crypto,” convinced investors that he could generate massive profits from trading cryptocurrencies and forex

But what happened was shocking

He raised more than $36.3 million from investors between 2020 and 2022

He promised some of them returns of up to 3% per week

He showed them photos and videos of an alleged trading account containing more than $311 million

But audio recordings presented in court revealed his admission that this fund never existed in the first place

And even more shocking: where did the investors’ money go?

$5.6 million on luxury cars

$4.9 million to pay off credit cards

$870,000 on travel and private jets

$598,000 on security

He also transferred about $3.7 million to his parents, while using $16.1 million from new investors to repay previous investors

On October 29, after only about 90 minutes of deliberation, a Toronto jury found him guilty of fraud

Imagine someone convincing people that he was managing $311 million when the entire account was just a hoax
This isn’t the story of a trader who lost investors’ money in the market, but the story of someone who sold them a fictitious fortune that never existed
