World ID now blocks deepfake fraud on Zoom and in banking.

World ID tools were created after a 2024 case in which an Arup employee transferred $25.6 million during a video call whose participants were deepfakes.

The new Zoom feature shows a blue badge for users whose iris scan is verified by an Orb device, letting banks and financial firms confirm a real person is present.

World ID for agents lets a single trusted AI agent carry a user’s delegated Proof, akin to a power of attorney, so merchants can treat the agent as the person’s alter ego.

Bain Capital, OpenExchange, Outtake, Pantera Capital and VanEck are initial design partners.

The WLD token was trading around $0.49, down 0.7 % in 24 hours and more than 11 % in seven days, still about 96 % below its $11.74 all‑time high.

Do you think iris‑based verification will become standard for high‑stakes virtual interactions?
