Weekend markets are quiet. Bitcoin is sitting around $81.7K, so here's something with an actual deadline.

The SEC's proposed Regulation Crypto Assets closes for public comment on Tuesday, October 20. It's still only a proposal, not law, and the SEC can change it based on the feedback it gets.

The proposal includes two exemptions from registration: a startup exemption of up to $5 million over four years, and a fundraising exemption of up to $75 million per 12-month period. It also floats a conditional safe harbor for deciding when a token counts as an "investment contract."

Anyone can comment, not just lawyers and big firms. Use the SEC's online comment form and reference File No. S7-2026-27. Keep in mind that submissions are posted publicly, so leave out personal details.

After that, the next big date is the Fed's decision on October 28.
