BlockBeats news, October 12: OneKey founder Yishi posted that recently multiple users who purchased Ledger hardware wallets through CryptoBilis reported asset theft. Ledger has confirmed that unauthorized hardware was implanted in the affected devices, and the specific cause and scope of impact are still under investigation. Since CryptoBilis also sold hardware wallets from OneKey and multiple other brands, OneKey has terminated its authorized reseller status. In response to this incident, OneKey announced three measures: effective immediately, stop adding new resellers; comprehensively re-audit existing resellers, revoke authorization for those whose business entities or ultimate beneficial owners cannot be verified, and publish the complete authorized list after the review is completed; provide free device replacements for eligible users. Regarding the replacement policy, users who purchased OneKey hardware wallets through CryptoBilis between March 1, 2026 and the date of the statement, regardless of model, whether activated or used, may apply for a free replacement. If the original model is in stock, it will be replaced with a brand-new device of the same model; if out of stock, a free upgrade will be provided. Devices will be shipped directly by the official OneKey store, and users do not need to send back the old device. The application deadline is December 31, 2026, and users must submit a ticket through OneKey official website customer service or help.onekey.so, providing proof of purchase, device model, and usage status.OneKey also reminded that devices that have not yet been activated should temporarily refrain from activation and directly apply for replacement; users who have already used them and hold assets should preventively treat the old seed phrase as potentially compromised, transfer assets as soon as possible using a wallet created with a brand-new seed phrase, and must not import the old seed phrase into a new device. Yishi also stated that as long as users place orders through the official OneKey website, it is an official direct sales channel. OneKey customer service will not ask users for their seed phrase or PIN code, and any behavior requesting such information under the pretext of replacement or verification may be a scam.
