$XRP Ledger Patches Decade-Old Vulnerability That Could Generate XRP from Nothing
The XRP Ledger has just announced a patch for a vulnerability reportedly existing since 2015, which could allow attackers to create new XRP with virtually no cost. This goes against the network's principle of a fixed 100 billion XRP supply.
The vulnerability was discovered by researcher Cayden Liao and Veria AI, reported internally on September 22, and patched on September 25 in xrpld version 3.4.1. RippleX states there is no evidence the vulnerability was ever exploited on public networks.
