🚨 Sei Just Upgraded to v6.7—but the Big EVM Migration Is Still Separate

Sei’s v6.7 upgrade is live on mainnet, but the network’s much-hyped move to a faster EVM storage layer is still a separate migration.

LIVE / CONFIRMED: Sei activated v6.7 on October 8 at height 236,450,000. The upgrade was mandatory for validators and prepares the chain for the FlatKV EVM-state migration, a key step toward Sei Giga.

But here’s the catch: v6.7 itself does not complete the migration. Sei says the next step is a separate move of EVM state from memIAVL to FlatKV—the biggest migration since January 2024.

There’s one detail worth watching: the ETF filing. REX Shares and Osprey updated their Staked SEI ETF filing with an October 23 effective date, but that is a filing update—not an approved, trading product.

The takeaway: Sei has shipped a real infrastructure upgrade, while its Giga scaling promise still depends on completing the separate EVM storage migration.
