🥷 Injective Just Rewrote Its Whitepaper—but It Doesn’t Change INJ’s Tokenomics

Injective released its first full whitepaper rewrite since 2018, positioning the chain around tokenized finance, AI agents, and onchain markets.

LIVE / CONFIRMED: The October 7 whitepaper outlines native real-world-asset issuance, onchain trading and settlement, EVM and WASM composability, and payments for AI agents. It also introduces iAssets: stablecoin-margined, oracle-priced derivatives that track external assets without wrapping or pre-funding them.

But here’s the distinction: a whitepaper is a roadmap, not a live product rollout. INJ’s tokenomics remain unchanged—INJ is used for governance, staking, and protocol participation.

There’s one detail worth watching: institutional traction. Gulf Labs went live as an Injective validator on October 8 and plans collaboration on tokenization, stablecoins, and enterprise distribution. Meanwhile, three U.S. INJ ETF applications are filed, but none is approved or trading.

The takeaway: Injective is sharpening its tokenized-finance thesis, while INJ holders should separate the new whitepaper from deployed products and pending ETF approvals.
