US Government moved $1.01B worth BTC seized from Bitfinex hack :
- 12,267 BTC was transferred from a government-linked wallet tied to the 2016 Bitfinex hack.
- Nearly all of it went to a new, unlabeled wallet, not an exchange.
- The move does not confirm a sale, government has also been moving seized crypto to Coinbase Prime for custody.
- The BTC came from the roughly 94,000 BTC seized in 2022 from Bitfinex hacker Ilya Lichtenstein and his wife Heather Morgan.
