Fear & Greed fell 7 points in a day, from 71 to 64. That is the biggest one-day drop in mood I have recorded this week, and the price board explains why.
$ETH is down 4.69% to 2,571, leading the majors lower. $BTC is down 2.75% at 83,212, but the number I care about is its volume: about 1.75B USDT in 24 hours. In my last two market reads it was around 1.08B. Selling with that much more volume is not a quiet drift.
Still, the index sits at 64, inside Greed. People are less confident, not scared yet.
One coin went the other way with real size behind it. $NEAR is up 5.1% on about 185.9M USDT, the fifth biggest volume on the board while almost everything around it is red. MET leads the gainers at +34.6%, but on only 24.1M.
What I watch next is whether the index drops under 50 into Fear. If it does while BTC volume stays this high, this is the start of a real correction. If BTC holds 83,000 and volume cools, today is a shakeout and the coins that held up, NEAR first, are the ones to watch on the rebound.
