Built a Whale Accumulation Tracker using CoinGecko API because manually checking top wallets across Arkham, explorers, and holder pages was eating too much time. Even paid tools don't always give you the exact view you need for proper research.

How it works:

Paste any token CA → pulls top 50 holders → filters out CEX wallets, LPs, burn addresses, contracts → reads swaps and transfers over 7D or 30D → splits net flow into DEX buys/sells, CEX withdrawals/deposits, wallet transfers, and Locked/LP

Staking or LP adds never count as selling. Each whale gets tagged: Accumulating (+2%), Distributing (−2%), Holding, or New position.

Why I use it:

Quick scan of whether top holders are adding, reducing, or holding before I commit time to deeper research. Instead of opening dozens of wallets one by one, I check the overall behavior first, then only dig into wallets that look interesting.

How to set it up:

Grab a CoinGecko API key (Analyst plan for holder + wallet data) → clone the repo → open with Claude Code or Codex → add your key to .env → run the app → pick chain, paste CA, choose 7D/30D window, select 20/50 holders → hit Scan whales → check whale cards, flow breakdown, holder table → click any wallet to verify txs on explorer

If you want to build tools for your own research, CoinGecko API + Claude is a solid starting point even if you don't code. Instead of bending your workflow around existing tools, build something that fits exactly what you need. Personalizing your research workflow saves time, especially for tasks you repeat daily.

NFA, DYOR. This is a research tool, not a buy signal.
