#zcashfalls21%fromseptemberpeak 🚨 JUST LOST ~21% FROM ITS SEPTEMBER PEAK — BUT THE REAL STORY IS UNDERNEATH 👀
Zcash has pulled back from roughly $1,698 to around $1,330–$1,340, while U.S. spot ZEC ETFs recorded a combined $30.25M net outflow on September 30. Grayscale’s ZCSH accounted for the reported outflow.
But here's the interesting part:
📉 Price ↓
📉 Leverage/OI ↓
💰 ETF flows turned negative
Earlier in the pullback, reports showed ZEC futures open interest declining faster than price — a sign that some leveraged positions were being removed rather than the entire move being driven by fresh short exposure.
And the clock is still ticking. ⏰
⚡ NU7 IS APPROACHING
Zcash's next major network upgrade currently has this timeline:
🧪 Oct. 6 — Testnet activation
📋 Oct. 20 — Final mainnet activation decision + height
🚀 Nov. 5 — Current target for mainnet activation
NU7 would reduce target block spacing from 75 seconds to 25 seconds and introduce changes involving the Network Sustainability Mechanism, while preserving the existing halving schedule.
But Nov. 5 is still a target, not a guaranteed launch date.
So the real question isn't simply:
“Has ZEC topped?”
It's whether this correction represents:
🔴 Distribution + weakening demand
or
🟢 A leverage reset before the next fundamental catalyst
I'm watching three things closely:
📊 ETF flows
📈 Futures open interest
💰 ZEC price reaction around $1,300–$1,400
🧠 SQUARE INSIGHT:
Falling price + falling leverage can tell a very different story from falling price + rising leverage.
The next move may depend on which one we're actually seeing.
