Before I seriously consider a cryptocurrency, there are a few things worth checking.
1️⃣ What does the project actually do?
If you cannot explain its purpose in simple words, you probably need more research.
2️⃣ What is the token used for?
Does it have an actual function within the ecosystem, or is its value mainly driven by speculation?
3️⃣ What's the supply?
Look at circulating supply, maximum supply, and token distribution.
A large future token unlock can potentially create additional selling pressure.
4️⃣ What's happening with the market?
Look at trading volume, liquidity, price history, and broader market conditions.
A token can have a great idea but still experience huge price swings.
5️⃣ What could go wrong? ⚠️
This is the part many people skip.
Research the risks, competition, security issues, regulations, token unlocks, and anything else that could affect the project.
And here's the most important part:
You don't need to buy every coin you discover.
Researching a project and deciding not to invest is still a successful research process.
Whether you're looking at $BTC, $ETH, or a smaller token, don't let excitement replace research.
