I was reading through Babylon’s Trustless Vault docs today and honestly expected the mechanics to be the part that bothered me. They didn’t.
BTC stays native on Taproot, gets locked on Bitcoin, while the capital can still do useful work elsewhere. I even tested the flow with a small position before, mostly because I wasn’t fully convinced.
What caught me was the valuation gap.
On the July 31 snapshot, $BABY was around $0.0116, down 6.5% for the week, with roughly a $46.6M market cap and $8.4M in 24h volume. Yet Babylon’s vault ecosystem was sitting around 56,800 BTC.
That’s the weird part: the infrastructure can be functioning while the token capturing governance around it barely reflects the scale of what it coordinates.
So I’m watching one thing now: does actual usage—more BSNs, borrowing volume, and demand—eventually translate into $BABY value?
Or is this gap simply part of the design? #BABY #baby
