#Solana 's inflows spiked significantly last week, making it the leader among altcoins and surpassing Bitcoin in terms of investor interest. According to a new report from Coinshares, Solana has been receiving a lot of attention due to its recent success. The cryptocurrency has gathered about $24 million, marking its greatest influx since March 2022.
Analysing The Spike In Solana River Inflow
Looking further into the figures, for the second week in a row, the digital asset investment domain as a whole had net inflows, with a total of $78 million being added up. This shows an optimistic mood similar to that seen in July's results.

Solana became a media darling while Bitcoin, the first crypto behemoth, maintained its hegemonic position. The renewed interest in Solana as an altcoin, as pointed out by Head of Research James Butterfill, is evidence of the cryptocurrency's rising popularity among digital investors, especially in light of the recent releases of Ethereum futures ETF products.
The research notes that Solana funds saw positive inflows for 28 of the 52 weeks in 2023, with only 4 weeks seeing negative outflows.
Bitcoin, an industry staple, saw $43 million in new investment this year. According to the data presented, a group of investors, maybe motivated by Bitcoin's current upward surge, poured $1.2 million into short-bitcoin instruments last week.
Investing Trends That Are Radically Different in Europe and #ETH ETFs
Europe remained the dominant region for digital asset inflows, making approximately 90% of the global total. However, just $9 million came in from the United States and Canada combined. According to Butterfill, the changing market dynamics and investor choices are reflected in the stark geographical differences in investment attitude.

The number of transactions involving exchange-traded instruments increased by 37% week over week, totaling $1.13 billion. The amount of trades conducted on reputable Bitcoin exchanges also increased by 16%.
It wasn't all roses and unicorns, though. Less than $10 million was generated from the recent US launch of six Ethereum futures ETFs. Although it may seem like a lot, Butterfill said it showed a "tepid appetite," especially when compared to the $1 billion that Bitcoin futures ETFs brought in during their first week of trading in 2021.
Rather than being indicative of the value of the asset itself, Butterfill said the disparity was due to different market conditions and "poor investor appetite" for digital assets.
Even though Solana had some encouraging inflows last week, the #cryptocurrency is presently in the midst of a slaughter with Bitcoin. At the time of writing, the price of Solana was $22.30, a decrease of approximately 10% from the previous week and a decrease of 4.50% from the previous day.
Bitcoin, however, has been shedding its share of losses as well, with a trade price now at $27,518 (down 2.9% in the previous 7 days and 1.4% in the past day).
