XRP Soars After Ripple Wins Against SEC
XRP rose in price after the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) received another blow in its long-running lawsuit against Ripple Labs.
The SEC sued Ripple Labs in 2021 for offering unregistered securities, and the court partially dismissed the charge in July. Judge Analisa Torres ruled that XRP was only a security when offered to institutional investors, not retail investors, and the SEC quickly attempted to appeal this.
However, this appeal was rejected by the courts, which was another victory for Ripple Labs. As a result, XRP jumped 5%
