Nillion (
$NIL ): Building the "Blind Computer" for Private Data and AI.!!🤩
Most blockchains are transparent by design. That works for transfers, but it is a real limit for high-value data such as AI agent data, trading data, identity and healthcare records. Nillion is a decentralized network for private computation, AI, and storage, built to solve this problem.
🔐 The Core Idea: Blind Computation
Nillion's belief is simple: data can be used without ever being revealed. Instead of betting on one privacy technology, it combines several (MPC, TEEs, encryption and more) into modular components called **Blind Modules.
🧩 The Three Core Modules
nilDB (private storage)
Decentralized, secure storage powered by Shamir Secret Sharing, with encrypted shares of data stored across nilDB nodes. No single node ever holds your full data.
nilCC (confidential compute)
A general-purpose confidential compute platform that lets any containerized application run inside TEEs with hardware-guaranteed isolation. Developers can submit standard Docker Compose files without changing their code.
#Nill nilAI (private AI).
nilAI runs LLMs securely inside TEEs. This means prompts and sensitive data can be processed privately, which matters for enterprises, healthcare and finance.
🚀 Execution So FarPhase 0 (July 2025):
nilDB gained flexible decentralized permissions, threshold encryption and permissionless node deployment, while nilAI moved to running large models like Llama and DeepSeek inside secure TEEs.
Phase 1 (October 2025):
nilCC went live on mainnet and ready for production use, alongside major upgrades to nilAI and nilDB.
Traction (as of mid-2025):
over 750M secrets stored in nilDB and over 1.2M inference calls made to nilAI.
Ethereum alignment:
In February 2026, Nillion announced the migration of its treasury and tokens to Ethereum mainnet, with a full Nillion L2 planned throughout 2026. The network also features community-run, permissionless Blacklight nodes that act as the verification layer of the Blind Computer.
