where in one night, ripped off 401,347 ETH worth $1.4 billion dollars
from their most secure vault.
No alarms. No warnings. Just… silence.
The Bybit CEO, Ben Zhou, scrambled to contain the damage.
Although He secured an emergency loan to cover 80% of the losses.
Promised users, that their funds were safe.
kept withdrawals open, even as $1.5 billion poured out.
The Good news Bybit survived.
But its reputation? Not so much.
And when investigators traced the stolen funds, one name kept coming up.
Park Jin.
For years, intelligence agencies have been chasing him.
They know he was trained at Kim Chaek University of Technology North Korea’s hacking powerhouse.
They know he worked for Chosun Expo, a front for the Lazarus Group —Pyongyang’s cybercrime elite.

First They created a perfect replica of Bybit’s signing interface.
The transaction looked legit.
✅ The recipient's address? Matched.
✅ The amount? Correct.
✅ Everything seemed fine.
But behind the scenes, the contract logic was rigged.
Then the moment Bybit’s security team approved the transaction, the trap was sprung.
The contract code rewrote itself on the blockchain.
Suddenly, the hackers had full control over the cold wallet.
Bybit’s fortress of security had just turned against itself.
The money disappeared ☠
Split into 53 wallets.
Tumbled through mixing services.
Laundered through shady exchanges.
Turned into untraceable assets.
By the time Bybit’s team realized what had happened, it was game over.
Blockchain analysts, law enforcement, and cybersecurity experts scrambled to track the funds.
But North Korea?
They played dumb.
Park Jin? Still Never heard of him.
