🚨 This wave of stablecoins may be quietly strengthening the US dollar.

A Bank of England official, Carolyn Wilkins, said that the growth of dollar stablecoins isn’t just something that concerns the crypto industry itself—it could also bring about two things at the same time:

• Strengthen the US dollar’s global dominance
• Increase long-term demand for US Treasury bonds

The underlying logic is actually quite simple:

The more widely adopted dollar stablecoins like USDT and USDC become, the more issuers need to hold large amounts of dollar assets and US Treasuries as reserves.

According to data she cited, by the end of 2025, USDT and USDC combined held nearly $150 billion in US Treasuries, with the amount newly purchased that year totaling about $33 billion. Currently, the total circulating supply of stablecoins has exceeded $300 billion, and about 98% of it is pegged to the US dollar.

So what’s truly worth watching about stablecoins isn’t just on-chain payments—it may be that they’re turning into:

A new channel for the globalization of the US dollar + a new buyer of US Treasuries.

But on the flip side, if large-scale redemptions happen in the future and issuers集中 sell Treasuries, it could also amplify volatility in the bond market.

Sold 1,635 BTC, but only has 1,279 BTC left in hand.

The recent moves by Empery Digital are kind of interesting.

According to the information in the image, from July to early August, the company cumulatively sold 1,635 BTC and cashed out about $102.2 million.

More importantly:

Current holdings have dropped to 1,279 BTC, among which 954 BTC has been used for debt collateral.

That means the BTC that can actually be freely traded is only 325 BTC.

And at the end of June, that number was still 1,375 BTC.

In about a month or so, it shrank dramatically.

So is this a deliberate strategy to lock in profits,
or is it making “room” to ease funding pressure?

Is DeepSeek planning another big move?

According to information leaked today, the scale of the second round of funding could reach RMB 50 billion, and the target valuation is said to be as high as RMB 500 billion.

Even more outrageous: it’s claimed that some investors’ entry threshold is RMB 5 billion.

DeepSeek just completed its first funding round in June. Now, a little over a month later, the valuation is said to have already jumped by 40%+.

So what’s the money going to be used for?
Compute power, data centers, model research and development, and preparations for a future IPO.

If this round really goes through at this scale, DeepSeek’s capital story would basically enter its next phase.

But I’m more curious about one thing:

Whether an AI company is worth RMB 500 billion ultimately depends on whether its model capabilities and commercialization can hold up that number.
