Singapore-based luxury fashion group ALTAVA, which develops fashion-themed metaverses, announced its licensing partnership with entertainment leader Animoca Brands.
The deal enables ALTAVA Group to use the Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT collection, which currently makes part of Animoca Brands’ portfolio.
According to the press release shared with Metaverse Post, the blockchain-focused entertainment giant has licensed the Bored Ape Yacht Club intellectual property to ALTAVA’s Bored Ape Golf Club, a golf-focused derivative. Notably, the latter is not affiliated with the original BAYC collection. However, given the popularity of the Bored Ape Yacht Club imagery, the themed community-driven project is also successful.
In December 2022, Animoca Brands’ subsidiary, The Sandbox, introduced the Bored Ape Golf Club to the metaverse. ALTAVA and OneFootball powered this digital football and golf-themed experience. ALTAVA and The Sandbox are also building the ALTAVA Club House in the metaverse. The digital venue is a replica of the Seoul-based pop-up store that showcases the Bored Ape Golf Club collection. In addition to such partnerships, Animoca Brands is an investor in Altava.

So, the special edition Bored Ape Golf Club non-fungible tokens will support outfits branded by Animoca Brands and The Sandbox.
Golf-themed NFTs will grant holders access to several of the most exclusive golf country clubs in Turkey, Korea, and Vietnam. NFT holders will also receive custom physical BAGC-branded golf merchandise and Bored Ape Golf Club voxel twins tokens that can be used in The Sandbox metaverse. More than that, owners will get intellectual property ownership, licensing, and management service, meaning they can create derivative projects and monetize their IP.
The current floor price of the BAGC collection is 0.1 ETH (approximately $184 at the moment of writing). 146 ETH of volume has been traded since the collection’s release in February of this year.
