Deep Tide TechFlow News, October 17 — According to AXIOS, Musk said that the government efficiency reform experiment he once led (DOGE) ultimately came to nothing, proving that “it is simply impossible to solve the budget deficit from within the government.” Musk said, “The only way to solve the U.S. national debt problem is through artificial intelligence and robots.” He added, “We can’t solve this problem by tightening our belts.” Musk’s remarks effectively acknowledged that the DOGE reforms had failed to achieve their expected results, while also suggesting that a future administration might try again to tackle the problem with the help of increasingly capable AI. Musk said that neither the president, the House, the Senate, nor the judicial branch is willing to cut spending.

Musk admitted that he had “definitely gone a bit too far, to some extent,” and ultimately spent too long away from his companies. He said: “I should have stayed more behind the scenes… and this probably only needed to last a month or two, rather than the four months I actually spent formally working at the White House. I should have gone back sooner and refocused on AI.” (Jin10)
