This jokester interrupts with breaking news: $STRK 15-minute contract open interest rose 72.35%, with the value of open positions at about $28.3 million; the price was down 1.28% over the same period.
Open interest moved, while my position is still zero—I’m just watching from the sidelines.
A serious bit of education: open interest reflects the overall size of contract positions. The higher it is, the more positions could be liquidated if prices swing sharply.
Sizing orders based on the stop-loss distance is much more reliable than trading on a whim.
