Ethereum Falls 4% in Six Minutes: Machi Big Brother Gets Liquidated, $189M in Longs Miss It by Just $13.50

Early this morning, $ETH fell from 2,408 to 2,314 in six minutes.

At 02:22, trading volume in one minute was more than 100 times the usual level. The 1,650 ETH remaining in a 25x long widely believed to belong to Machi Big Brother was liquidated. His realized losses over two days: $627,000.

At 02:28, the price hit a low of 2,314. A 12x whale was liquidated near the bottom, losing 1,200 ETH.

Then the low held just $13.50 above 2,300.9. Liquidation prices for $189 million in ETH longs were clustered between 2,290 and 2,301. Two wallets, and not a single position was triggered. Half an hour later, ETH was back at 2,386.

The wildest part: seven minutes after Machi was liquidated, he opened another 25x long with $20,000.

My take: We’ve spent more than a year analyzing Hyperliquid data. During the hours with the most liquidations, prices tend to keep moving in the same direction by around 2%. But where they go the next day is basically a coin toss. Liquidations are fuel, not a prediction. What really matters is seeing clearly who has to sell, and at what price.

📌 Levels to watch next:

【ETH】2,281–2,301
Liquidation prices for about $203 million in longs are clustered here
At the current price of 2,358, a further drop of 2.4%–3.3% would bring ETH into this range

【BTC】79,415
A $24.5 million 25x long
A further 2.0% drop would trigger liquidation

【HYPE】74.56
A whale holding $110 million is currently up about $57 million
It would take another 6.6% drop to reach its liquidation price

Do you think ETH will hit that $189 million liquidation level this week?
