Coinbase premium is deeply negative, but are whales quietly accumulating?

$BTC is now at 83,467, with the 1h range between 80,394 and 84,352. The Bollinger Bands have narrowed to 83,247–84,273—tight enough to suggest a big move may be brewing.

The signals are conflicting:
1) U.S. spot ETFs saw net outflows of $681 million last week, ending a three-week inflow streak.
2) The Coinbase premium is clearly negative, pointing to weak U.S. buying pressure.
3) But reports say whales have accumulated around 15,000 BTC over the past 72 hours, and short liquidations also account for a relatively high share.

My take: Large players off-exchange are absorbing the supply, while U.S. funds on-exchange are sitting on the sidelines. The rebound lacks conviction.

Key levels:
・83,247, the lower Bollinger Band; if it breaks, watch 82,000 first.
・84,273, the upper band; only a sustained 1h move above it could open the door to 85,000.
・Invalidation: If price falls back below the previous low of 80,394, I’ll admit I was wrong—the rebound was a bull trap.

Before CPI comes out on 10/14, who’s stronger: the whales or the ETFs?
