Lithuania's State Tax Inspectorate has updated reporting procedures for crypto asset service providers through Order No. VA-63, Bitcoin.com News reported. The rules require enhanced customer due diligence and collection of user identity, transaction and tax residency information. Entities that have fulfilled registration and reporting obligations in other EU member states may be exempt from duplicate reporting in Lithuania. Full operational reporting across the EU will begin on January 1, 2026, with automatic exchange of 2026 data starting mid-2027. Starting March 2, certain electronic money token transactions will require additional payment service authorization.
