$BTC: After trading volume increased, has price confirmed the move?
I’ll first check whether the increase in trading volume is sustained, then see whether price has confirmed the move.
Finally, I’ll revisit the upper and lower boundaries. The current interpretation holds only if price confirms the move.
First, a look at the market: This snapshot is as of 18:16 Beijing time on October 7. Binance’s $BTC was 83,826.24 USDT, while OKX read 83,826.80 at the same time. Trading volume and derivatives readings: volume ratio 3.55, one-hour OI +0.90%, funding rate -0.0049%.
Looking across time frames, the short- and medium-term readings don’t fully align: 15 minutes +0.04%, 1 hour -0.18%, 4 hours -0.01%. 83,577.00 is the support level to watch, and 86,698.99 is the level that would confirm the move.
My take: Price hasn’t moved far for now, but trading volume has increased, suggesting the market is changing hands. The direction still needs confirmation at key levels. Another explanation is that both bulls and bears are reducing risk exposure. Public OI data shows only the total change and can’t identify which side is driving it. If price retreats to the middle of the range, the directional view above is invalidated. First, watch whether price can hold above 86,698.99, then whether it breaks below 83,577.00.
This is an observation of publicly available market data and does not constitute investment advice.
