#strategy增持950枚btc Strategy again buys 950 BTC! But the key is not the price
Saylor posted on 9/21: he holds 846,000 BTC. This is Strategy’s first BTC repurchase since August—last week spent $75.7 million to buy 950 BTC (avg price: $79,670). MSTR surged as much as 9.5% in a day, and BTC broke through $85,000.
But three overlooked signals are more important:
① The money spent on buybacks is 2.3x that used to buy BTC
This week Strategy spent $75.7 million to buy BTC, yet prioritized a stock buyback of preferred shares STRC for $174 million. STRC previously fell below par value (USD $75); only by pulling it back to par value can it resume as a “financing tool to buy BTC.” Fix the machine first, then hoard the coins.
② Only 0.2% away from the all-time high
846,000 BTC vs the record 847,363 BTC—just 1,363 BTC apart. But in August it sold 6,948 BTC to cover cash flow—“never sell” in 2026 is already broken.
③ No new share issuance—using the cash pool
This week there was no sale of MSTR stock; the funds came from USD Cash ($1.3B → $1.05B). Issuing shares at a discount is not worth it—so it has to rely on cash plus buybacks to keep going.
For you:
Not a price catalyst: 950 BTC is negligible compared to BTC’s $1.6T market cap; the move above $85k is mainly due to short liquidations (about $648M). The real point to watch: whether STRC buybacks can return it to par value and restore the “issue shares to buy BTC” cycle.
Don’t let retail learn leverage the hard way: Saylor has $5.1B cash and 0 liquidation risk—you don’t.
Recommendation: hold $BTC spot / DCA and don’t move; watch whether $MSTR’s mNAV discount narrows; don’t chase—BTC just broke $85k and RSI is on the high side. Wait for a pullback for confirmation.
One sentence: Saylor buys BTC to keep the faith alive; the STRC buyback is the main storyline this week. 950 BTC is a signal, not ammunition.
I wrote an article about why MSTR is firmly committed to buying BTC一个软件公司为什么要赌上全部身家买BTC?
