CME Group CEO Terry Duffy told the CFTC that some self-certified contracts can be rigged, while Chairman Michael Selig cut him off and called the claim fake news. According to BeInCrypto, the clash came Thursday in Washington at the first meeting of the CFTC’s Innovation Advisory Committee, where Duffy cited Kalshi, Polymarket and CME’s own pending compute products.
Duffy said roughly 2,500 self-certifications have reached the agency since January 2025 with no objections, and argued some violate core principle 3. He also pointed to Polymarket and Kalshi trading cases, while Selig said the offshore products were never listed in the United States.
