Recently, a lot of people have been watching to see whether “Wall Street will actually buy $ETH .” But I think the market is really concerned about why $BTC keeps getting selected first.

This isn’t a new story. But over the past couple of days, it’s been dragged back into the spotlight—at the key point of ETF fund flows.

The news is pretty blunt: the $ETH ETF has been doing poorly for eight straight months. Even though there were brief inflows in July and August, the money didn’t stay.

It sounds a bit painful to hear, and the meaning is that Wall Street is still “in a trial period” with $ETH , while $BTC already feels like the default setup.

I was checking the order book on the subway just now—$BTC spot was at $62,934, and in the last 24 hours it’s also down 1.48%.

On the surface, it looks weak. It topped out around 64,425 and bottomed near the 62,500 area, whipping back and forth enough to make your palms sweat.

But if you look more closely, you can tell the market complains about it being expensive with its mouth, while still circling around $BTC in its hands.

In the last 24 hours, spot traded $930 million, while the derivatives side pushed to $6.96 billion. There were 2.48 million trades, and the funding rate is still modestly positive at 0.0058%.

Put these numbers into plain human language: while prices are falling, the arena isn’t cooling off. A lot of people are still treating $BTC as the market’s overall emotional power switch.

Even institutions are playing it this way.

If you truly want to get into crypto assets, start with what you know best—something you can explain to your boss, something you can write into a report, with liquidity thick enough that if things go wrong, it’s easier to pull out.

$ETH isn’t without a story. It just hasn’t firmly taken its place on Wall Street yet.

I’m not saying $ETH is done, either.

If one day the funds can keep staying for several consecutive months—not coming in and leaving right away—and if the ecosystem really has new things that pull fees and activity upward, then the whole “flavor” will be different.

But based on the current pace, my attention is still more focused on $BTC .

If it were me, in a situation like this, I’d rather watch whether the 62,500 zone can hold than rush to “fill in” a big行情 using the four words “funds returning.”

The market flips faster than turning a page. Keep some position size.
